1) FCC Deals Verizon a Blow -- The FCC ruled that Verizon cannot call former customers during the four-day period they are transferring their phone services to a new provider in order to offer those customers incentives to remain with Verizon.

2) 1.5 Million Cable Jobs -- The U.S. cable industry accounts for 1.5 million jobs in all 50 states representing almost $62 billion in personal income and gross economic output of nearly $227 billion, according to study completed by Bortz Media and Sports Group, and released by the NCTA. The report is available here.

3) The Pain of P2P -- Sandvine announced recent analysis of traffic trends from leading North American broadband networks. Findings include that P2P file sharing accounts for 44% of all Internet traffic - up 4% from last year. Also, P2P file sharing dominates upstream traffic - using 75% of available upstream bandwidth.
